Whats Been Happening This Week?

'Dogs bred' at fatal attack house

What do you think about when you see this title?
Well when i saw it i just thought ahh another person dead, but then i read it and it was a four year old boy. not very nice.

In a nutshell basically John Paul Massey died because the police didnt take action of a report of dog breeding at the boys house.
Now im not going to say i hate the police like most people do because they protect us, but they are letting their guard down a little in the past year.

Police went to investigate the house in February and took no further action on the dogs or the breeding. So what happens when we say things and if doesn't get looked at?
This just makes me think that are the police really the way to go?

Write it, Answer it

Due to technology developing so fast, what will dominate the future?

In the last 10 years or so technology has changed so much that the old people are trying to keep up.
TV's are now flat, phones are now small, even computers are portable, but what does that lead us with into the future?

Us as the audience know what we want and how we want it. Companies build their ideas around us, but this leads technology to expand so much that we need to slow the pace down so it fits our needs. We always want the latest gadgets whether it be phones or TV's, but we know without them, there is probably no us.
Our generation was bought up to know how technology works as we where the first people to learn how to use them. But since were doing that now, how will the generation of the future cope with being bombarded with future technology?

Whats Happened This Week?

I was reading the news the other day and i came across one that actually got me and made me feel quite sick and sad at the situation. I read the article and watched the news about the girl who jumped out of a 3rd story floor to escape from bullies. Not even a 1st story a 3RD STORY flat. AND DIED! How terrible is that, we all say we have cut down on bullying, they get kids to do things to stop them doing other things. its a lot of well you know. Rosimeiri Boxall was 19 years old. Only 19 she had no life, she was still young, its quite sad and it really hit me. The girls that bullied her where younger 15 and 19. How can any one thats younger bully some one older. it gets me angry and the fact she could not stick up for herself and the only way she could stick up for herself was to kill herself.

The parents of Rosimeiri Boxall forgive them, how can you can you forgive someone who made your child kill themselves is wrong.

Well heres a video clip, i cant actually talk any more about it before i get to angry :) Lol

Media Platforms :)

In my lesson today I was told to summaries what I learntSo here it goes..

E-Media:
Internet, World Wide Web whatever you want to call it is one of the main fastest growing platforms at the
moment. it has grown rapidly because of
how the audience use and connect with it. in terms of the
technology its producing we now have mobile phones that tell us where to go, to send pictures, go on the internet (part of e-media) etc.
Now E-media can be used to let people show online for food on a regular basis without having to leave home, e-mail friends, play online games, have webcam chats etc.
In a sense there is no one who actually owns the internet. There are people who own sites like facebook for example, but they have no right to tell us what we can and cant do on our page, yes there are restrictions on what we could put on, but thats just to stop other audiences of facebook being offended. So who can really tell us what to do on the internet?

OFCOM:
OFCOM means Office of Communication. It was made in 2003 to regulate television, radio, telecommunications and wireless
communication services. OFCOM deals with complaints people make, competition between the programs, monitors standards and deals with licences.

Print:
Definition:
- Institution practice of producing content copy and images using ink and paper.
Print was one thing that people can relate to when internet wasn't involved.
A Newspaper is one part of print. Theres approximately 680 Newspaper in the UK, just over a 1/3 third of them are free, the rest are payed for by the audience.
"News International" owns most companies like The Times - Sunday
Times - Sun - News Of The World - The London Paper.
The "News International" was founded by Australian born
Rupert Murdoch who also own 20th century fox - Myspace - BSkyB.

Broadcasting:
Definition:
- The Institutionalized practice of sending television and radio content to large number of receivers.
Audio -
Radio (although when received through a screen there is an accompanying visual content
Moving Image-
Content of television programs and films
There are currently 6 major broadcasting in the UK. BBC - ITV - Channel 4 - Five - BSkyB - Virgin Media

On My AS Level this makes a huge impact as i will need to learn most of these facts for my exams.
I can apply this to most of my exams no matter what it is. Because this will come under most of my exams in the future.
I liked the way the lesson was done, i'll think of something that could of been done better soon but for now i'm tired so i'm going to bed Night *Turns of the lights*

Remembrance Day

All we can say is R.I.P to all the fallen soldiers in WW I, WW II and all the other wars going around now.

i wrote a poem for remembrance day, hope you like it

Wear Your Poppy Close To Heart

Wear Your Poppy close to heart

For the families who had to part

The grieve they had to be put through

At least you say it wasn’t you

You read the news and every story

Even if there gross and gory,

Remembrance Day they say

But do we know the price they pay?

World War 2 and World War 1

Yet the story’s just begun

They go in war with a mind to kill

With all that intelligence and skill

We don’t see all the hurt and pain

And all the energy they had to drain

Their aim is to help and protect

Yet we don’t see the after affect

The people who come home and beat their children

All because no one would begin to hear them

The trauma they went through everyday

All because they don’t have their say

We see it all on the newspaper

“He was a happy old chapper”

So when their family go to bed at night

They’re scared the child will lose the fight.

We don’t really know what happens at war,

All we know its people they adore

So when you see those families around

Just know their Kids 6 ft underground....

Is Honesty The Best Policy?

Michael Jackson, you either love him or you hate him, but you cannot take away from him that he is one of the best entertainers, dancers and singers of all time. R.I.P

Okay, this is a response to Jennie Bristow's: A thriller documentary – Martin Bashir’s living with Michael Jackson. I totally do not agree with this documentary what-so-ever, so i thought i would read her article from the Media Magazine archive list, just so i could get an insight on what other people thought about it.

I love the use of the sort of sarcasm she uses, its almost as if she wants to use the same as as Martin Bashir, in a comic way.
"It’s generated a rainforest’s-worth of tabloid coverage, critical comment, cartoons and cheap jokes."
Only a media representative would come up with something like that. :)

When i watched the documentary i was actually appaled but actually intrigued at how clever he was to minipulate the audience into believing what he has to say. He turned Michael's life into a mockery, he didnt have a childhood and he's re-living it now, whats so wrong with that.

Response To Pete's Media Blog..

First off al just a quick answer to one of Pete's Requests.

I found this on youtube on the press room fact sheet for Youtube.
"see if you can find out what sort of people are doing the uploading"

So What type of people really do the most uploading, well from Youtube itself i found out that "52 % of 18-34 year-olds share videos often with friends and colleagues. With such a large and diverse user base, YouTube offers something for everyone", but in reality that doesn't really give me a clear point of view to who actually does it, and I'm finding it hard to find it on google and youtube itself. so ill have to get back to you on that one.

Anyway back to Pete's Blog.
When i first read it i didn't actually get the point of it, until i started thinking to myself what its about, and i totally agree with all the videos and what he wrote.
In the video "A Video Of Students Today" it actually opened my eyes to what some people do with education, its like most of the people in America have to go further for their education, they have to expand there horizons (even though we do this here). But in fact they have to, so they can pass, even though they should be learning in lessons. A class on 100 students is a lot. Were Privileged that we have 30 students or less, we can connect and have a personal level with them. As one girl said, the teacher only knows 18% of their students names. i don't actually get how that makes people feel in general but if my teacher didn't know my name i would feel a bit set back. For you guys who haven't seen it here it is.

"The Machine is Us/ing Us" Really?
Well According to Michael Wesch it is. Back in the day when we used to do work on pen and paper, now its laptops and USB's. So why?
Hmm Guess its not that hard to figure out really.

So agree with Pete when he says the reason 18 and less use upload and use YouTube less, which is probably because its blocked in most schools.
What do you think on all this?
